Finance Clerk (Part-Time)

Under general supervision, performs clerical accounting and bookkeeping duties requiring a working
knowledge of assigned accounting functions, accuracy, and attention to detail; performs related work as
assigned under the Finance Director.

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Records management
  • Filing
  • Reconcile bank accounts for various departments and tribal entities
  • Receipt of incoming funds
  • Various end-of-month reporting
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned to maintain and enhance departmental and tribal operations
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Must be able to understand reports and processes to be able to fill-in for other finance positions (Payroll, A/R and A/P) positions during vacancies
  • Knowledge of basic business math, bookkeeping practices, and principles
  • Knowledge of customer service principles, practices, and techniques
  • Proficiency in working with computer-based accounting programs
  • Skill in preparing and maintaining accurate records, reports, and files
  • Skill in utilizing computer databases to research, maintain, and update records and files
  • Skill in establishing cooperative work relationships with those contacted in the course of work
Minimum Qualifications:
  • A high school diploma/GED, supplemented by college level courses in bookkeeping and/or accounting
  • Two (2) years of increasingly responsible bookkeeping or clerical accounting experience; or
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Possess a valid state driver’s license.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in the preparation of financial documents.
  • Experience working with Native American organizations
